Google Talk is Google’s instant messaging/chat system. This system is free to download and offers a range of options to help its users chat and communicate with their friends, family and business contacts quickly and effectively in real-time. You can even use the system’s translation bots to translate the messages you send into a variety of other languages.
The Google Talk system offers a wide range of communication methods. You can, for example, use the tool as a basic Instant Messenger to chat online with people who also have Google Talk/Gmail. Voice chat is also an option here. This feature gives you free access to voice chat to other Google Talk users who are at their PC and online. If they aren’t there then you can even leave them a voicemail message. The system can also be used to send files and documents to other users without the standard file size restrictions.
Google’s standard email service, Gmail, also comes with some elements of Google Talk that may prove useful to users. These currently include an IM service, voice chat, video chat and group chat options. Google Talk can now also be used on some mobile devices such as BlackBerrys and iPhones.
