Evaluation Of Employee Training Methods

View future Train The Trainer Training Courses

Any company that has a formal training structure in place, whether this training is done in-house or externally, will have set up their training with specific aims. They may, for example, need to teach new employees to a production line how to do their job and how to stick to Health & Safety procedures or they may send their management staff on management training courses.

The aim of any training program is to make sure that employees can do their jobs to the best of their abilities. Training also makes it easier to retain staff -- if they feel that they are valued and that they are given career opportunities then they may well be happier in their roles. An important part of this process is the evaluation of the methods used to deliver training.

If this is done formally by an organisation it may well be handled by the HR team or, if the company does not have dedicated HR resources, then it may be handled by senior management. In some cases external consultants may also be used to help evaluate current methods and to assess their effectiveness. An external consultancy may also be retained at the beginning of a training process to help assess and choose the training methods that are ultimately chosen.
