HR recruitment agencies are agencies that help businesses to find HR staff when they need to hire new personnel for this department. In some cases the services may be offered by a specialist HR consultancy. In others the recruitment agency may work in a variety of sectors as well as in the HR function as a whole.
A company that hires an HR recruitment agency may do so on a general basis. For example, they may tell them to keep an eye out for good HR staff at particular levels and may simply interview candidates as they become available if the agency thinks that they may be a good prospect. In other cases the company may ask the agency to fill a particular role within the organisation.
At more senior or complex levels the company may use the agency to do a search and selection process or to run a recruitment advertising campaign on their behalf. The job of the agency in general here is to assess suitable candidates and to come up with a shortlist of suitable applicants who might be able to do the job. The company can then take over the interviewing process with a view to finding the right hires.
