Human Resources (HR) Recruitment Software

HR recruitment software is the term used to describe a software package that helps an HR department manage its recruitment processes. This kind of package may work as a stand-alone system or it may work as a part of a greater HR software system. In general terms it allows the HR department to keep record and track recruitment programs and initiatives and candidates.
So, for example, if a company places an advertisement to recruit staff in a newspaper then it may use its recruitment software to:
- Make a record of all applicants that apply to the advertisement.
- Generate letters and contact methods (i.e. rejection letters, requests for interviews, offer letters and details and so on).
- Track an applicant’s progress through the recruitment initiative.
- Act as a database of contacts for future recruitment drives.
This system can also be used for non-direct recruitment, for example when a company uses one or more recruitment agencies to help them source candidates to fill their roles.
Once a candidate has been recruited the software system may then take the relevant record into a wider HR system. They will then form the beginning of the employee record within the company. If the system only works on a stand-alone basis then their data may simply remain in this one system as an alternative.
