Leadership training is a form of management training that helps an individual understand the concepts and practicalities of managing other people. This need not solely be reserved for people who will lead a business at the highest level. Leadership training can be useful to have for any level of manager.
Leadership training can be taken as part of a wider or more general course or type of study or it can be studied as a stand-alone subject. A company, for example, may send its senior managers on specific leadership training courses as they progress up the corporate ladder. Or individuals may be given this kind of training as part of a general business course or study.
In many ways leadership training is much the same as management training. The aim here is to equip an individual with the ability to lead and manage other people. These skills are not natural to all of us and this kind of training can help people learn the necessary skills to progress into management smoothly and effectively.
Not all leadership training will take the same form or be based on the same techniques. Each course or module that you might study here could work on different underlying principles and management methodologies.
