Stress management is a ‘catch-all’ term used to describe various techniques, training and development programs that can help an individual learn how to deal with stress. This can be targeted at general stress such as that experienced in everyday life or it can have a business focus where it is used to help people cope with the stresses of their job.

There are many different types of stress management training. Commonly used solutions here include:

  • Training courses, seminars and programs that can help you understand stress and its causes and how to cope with it/minimise its occurrence. These can either be completed at home via books or downloads or in person by attending a specific event.
  • Hypnotherapy or hypnosis treatments to help people better cope with the stresses of their lives. This can involve self-help techniques or specific visits to a therapist.
  • Self-help treatments such as relaxation techniques, yoga and exercise.

 

The aim of all stress management solutions is to help the individual identify the cause of stress first of all. They also give coping mechanisms to help alleviate the symptoms and effects of stress and will help an individual understand how to try and prevent stressful situations from occurring in the first place.
